"And they go 'Elizabeth?'""i told my friend i met the key-clubbyest keyclubber ever" "and he said 'Elizabeth?'" i find this particular one funny because i dont even know this guy. =] but its kool. i wont post any more of those quotes cuz i think you get the point, but i'm always thinking about the one question everyone always asks me: "Why you love Key Club THAT much?" and i can never really give them a straight answer. but today i was talking to Kari from Division 44S, Bella Vista High School. and i've come to the conclusion that i will NEVER. EVER. in my life, be able to explain in words: 1. how much i love key club 2. why i love key club 3. and anything along those lines Key Club to me is something that is harder for me to explain than rocket science and everyone knows i fail at science and math. Hopefully, that will give you 0.00001% of an idea of why i love key club and just how much i do. Key Club is so much more than just a club. It's part of the K-Family and it's my family. We dont have K-Kids anywhere here, but we have 2 Builders clubs and they can be kute but slightly annoying sometimes just like younger siblings, and we have a local circle k and they treat us like younger siblings and always give advice and key clubbers are always there for each other and kiwanis are like our parents/grandparents, they always check to make sure that we're sleeping on time [even though we dont] and that we're eating right and that we're on top of everything. And about the video: The song is called Penguins to the Core, this was the end of District Convention 2006, and the guy singing is Andrew Huang, our LTG from 05-06, he wrote the song for us. =] There are so many Key Club memories i have in my head and that will never leave me, but the one of the memories that reminds me most of how awesome Key Club is, is the June DCM/End of the Year Banquet. We pooled together individual money and bought Andrew a new guitar and he kinda teared, which is the first time mostly everyone, if not everyone, had ever seen him remotely emotional in a sense that other ppl can tell easily. and when we told him to turn around, he said "im just exepcting to get a pie in the face" and then when he turned back around, he saw the guitar and doubled back and like gasped in shock and couldnt say anything for a really long time and kept saying "i cant believe this" and "thank you guys" and "you guys have no idea how much this means to me" over and over and OVER again. =] and then he took the guitar out and played "Penguins to the Core" and just like in the video, we sang along. I know I typed a lot and you guys probably won't read this but it's just something I had to do. There is so much more I can talk about but I think I'll try to stop soon. I can't help but to think about how I officially only have one year and 2 months left of Key Club and I really can't tell you how sad it makes me. 14 more DCMs as a Key Clubber. Two more District Conventions as a Key Clubber. Two more International Conventions as a Key Clubber. One more Fall Rally North as a Key Clubber. One more Regional Training Conference as a Key Clubber. One more Officer Training Conference as a Key Clubber. One more Relay For Life as a Key Clubber. Yea, I can join Circle K and then Kiwanis, but there are just those things that won't be the same. It's my worst fear ever and it's coming faster than ever.
